I’ll be trying something new for the next couple of months by giving out monthly recommendations for all of those that got nothing to read or for those that have just started reading manga. I’ll pick two series from each manga, manhwa, manhua and then 5 completed series and also 4 new series that have just been released this year.

Manga:

Mushoku Tensei ~Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu~

An unnamed 34-year-old Japanese NEET is evicted from his home following his parents’ death. Upon some self-introspection, he concludes that his life was ultimately pointless. Walking down a street he intercepts a speeding truck heading towards a group of teenagers, in an attempt to do something meaningful for once in his life he manages to pull one of them out of harm’s way before getting himself in the way of the truck and dying. Awakening in a baby’s body, he realizes he has been reincarnated in a world of sword and sorcery. He resolves to become successful in his new life, discarding his past identity for his new life as Rudeus Greyrat. Due to inherited affinity and early training, Rudeus becomes highly skilled at magic with help from his previous life’s intuitions. During his childhood, he becomes a student of a demon magician Roxy Migurdia, a friend to half-elf Sylphiette, and a tutor to noble heiress Eris Boreas Greyrat. Rudeus tries his best to live this new life with no regrets to leave behind.

Goblin Slayer

Goblin Slayer is a dark fantasy manga series written by Kumo Kagyu and illustrated by Kōsuke Kurose. It is based on the light novel series of the same name. The story follows a young priestess who joins her first adventuring party but finds herself in danger when their mission involving goblins goes awry. The group is ultimately slain, but the priestess is saved by Goblin Slayer, a skilled adventurer whose sole mission is to exterminate goblins mercilessly. As rumors of his exploits spread, the priestess realizes that more challenges may await them.

Manhwa:

Nano Machine

“Nano Machine” is a thrilling manhwa series set in a world where nanotechnology intertwines with martial arts. Virus Girlfriend

“Virus Girlfriend” is a thrilling manhua series set in a world plagued by doomsday. Ling Mo, the protagonist, discovers a special power that allows him to control zombies. With this ability, he navigates through hordes of the undead unharmed. In his journey, Ling Mo encounters his beloved girlfriend, Ye Lian, who has already been transformed into a zombie. Tomb Raider King

Bowblade Spirit

Bowblade Spirit is a thrilling manhwa series that revolves around the power of the bow as a dominant weapon, capable of targeting and overpowering anything in its path, even hidden targets beyond the reach of human sight. The story follows a protagonist who endures a grueling training regime under a merciless grandfather and embarks on a delightful journey to Zhongyuan in search of a spouse. The Breaker

The Breaker is a captivating manhwa series written by Jeon Geuk-jin and illustrated by Park Jin-hwan. The story follows Chunwoo Han, a martial artist who holds the prestigious title of Nine Arts Dragon within the secret martial arts society known as Murim. Fueled by his hatred for the Martial Arts Alliance, the government body of Murim responsible for the death of his martial arts teacher, Chunwoo transfers to a fictional school in Seoul on a mission from the anti-government group called the Black Forest Defense Group. There, he encounters Shiwoon Yi, a bullied student who seeks Chunwoo’s guidance in martial arts. As the plot unfolds, Chunwoo embarks on a mission to challenge the Martial Arts Alliance, ultimately leading to a conflict where he renounces Shiwoon as his disciple. The sequel, The Breaker: New Waves, continues the story as Shiwoon becomes involved in a battle against a new group called SUC, aiming to restore his teacher’s honor. The series is known for its action-packed storyline, dramatic tension, and intricate martial arts world.

The Breaker: New Waves

“The Breaker: New Waves” is the sequel to the South Korean manhwa series “The Breaker.” It follows the story of Yi Shiwoon, who decides to leave the world of Murim after his master destroys his ki-center, rendering him unable to use his martial arts. Despite his intentions to lead a normal life, Murim has other plans for Shiwoon. As the true disciple of Goomoonryong and the interim leader of the Sunwoo Clan, he becomes a target for various enemies, including the organization known as Soldiers Under Command. With his ki-center damaged, Shiwoon must find a way to defend himself and navigate the dangerous world of Murim. Return Survival

Return Survival is a gripping post-apocalyptic series set in a world overrun by flesh-eating zombies. Yohan, the protagonist, finds himself with a unique advantage as he has traveled back in time six months before the initial outbreak. Armed with prior knowledge, Yohan embarks on a mission to gather supplies and prepare for the impending undead threat. However, he soon discovers that surviving in this new reality is not just about battling zombies. Bandits, gangs, and rogue factions pose additional dangers, causing chaos and strife.
